The Sound Crew Needs You

Does the newest technology fascinate you? Do you love tweaking your home media center? Do you find yourself turning knobs, sliding T-sliders, crawling around with cables? The sound crew needs you. Cornerstone Children's Learning Center

The African phrase, 'It takes a village to raise a child,' has become commonplace in our culture. In the case of the Cornerstone Children?s Learning Center (CCLC), it takes an entire church, a teaching staff of 13, a national management company, and many others to raise nearly 100 children.

Every day this fall, over 95 children have been walking through CCLC's doors, along with their moms, dads, grandparents, or caregivers. Every day these families are affected by your generosity: you have provided a wonderful facility and high-quality education to many children who might otherwise not have the opportunity.

Over 25% of the children enrolled at CCLC are subsidized, either through scholarships or by the state. Over 80% of the kids are minorities. CCLC is the most affordable NAEYC-accredited center in the area, nearly 30% less expensive than other facilities.

CCLC is a 'radical presence' in the lives of many of the children enrolled. These children often experience gifts they might not receive anywhere else: regular prayer before meals, swim lessons in the summer, computer training starting at age 3, and, best of all, the attention and love of teachers and a Center Director, Bertie Kirchhoffer, who couldn?t be better at their jobs.

We ask for your continued support of this ministry. Specifically, we would be blessed by the following:

? Referrals: 90% of new students come to CCLC by word-of-mouth. Please be a part of that process by calling one family you know and telling them about CCLC.

? Prayer: our staff, particularly Bertie, works incredibly hard to provide an amazing learning environment, all on a shoestring budget. Please pray for the staff?s energy and patience. Please pray for the children whose presence gives life to the Center each day.

? Leadership: the CCLC board needs several new members. If you have a heart for children and have a teaching or business background, please contact Ami Campbell at ami.campbell@sbcglobal.net today to volunteer.

? Funds: please support a family by donating as little as $5 a week, or help fund new playground equipment. Mark your check to whichever effort you prefer.

? Other donations: do you have a skill or talent that could benefit the kids or staff? One LaSaller provided mini-massages to the teachers; another gave the kids a lesson on a day in the life of a doctor; others cleaned and mended cots. Share what you know with CCLC; you will reap many benefits, too!

Please feel free to stop by the Center at any time. Introduce yourself to Bertie and ask for a tour. You will be inspired what God is doing at CCLC. Your continued support of this ministry is appreciated. Please tell someone you know about CCLC. We also ask for prayer for the staff and children. For other ways to get involved, please call Ami Campbell at 847-920-9257.
