Quarterly Treasurer’s Update

Dear friends and members of LaSalle Street Church,

I hope this finds each of you well as we approach the end of summer and look forward to our fall launch on August 30. After a year on the elder board, I have just begun serving as treasurer. It is a privilege to serve our community in this way, and as part of our shared commitment to transparency, I want to update you on our church’s financial health.

First, we have much to celebrate. Thanks to your incredible energy and generosity, our recent Walkathon raised over $23,000 for the ministry of Breaking Bread, a fantastic boost to our shared life and community work.

At the same time, our giving is currently tracking behind our budgeted goals. For those of you who have pledged, we are currently $44k behind in pledged giving at this point in the year. We are also under in our budgeted amount for benevolence gifts, and bequests for 2026. If you’re able to give toward any of these categories please consider doing so. Every gift, large or small, directly fuels our mission and keeps our doors wide open to those who rely on us.

To close the gap, we are doing two things. First, the staff is looking at areas where we can reduce spending for the remainder of the year. Second, we will be launching a more intentional opportunity for year-end giving in about a month. In anticipation of that, I ask that you continue holding our staff and ministries in your prayers, as you thoughtfully consider ways you might support our shared work in the coming months.

Thank you for your ongoing faithfulness and dedication to the life of our congregation.

Together,

Dave Healing
Treasurer
